Cactus League Opener

Noah Lowry and Kevin Correia were rocky, leading to a 12-6 Cubs victory. The bright spots on the team were Randy Winn, who belted a home run, and Aaron Rowand, who had two hits of his own. Crede Coming?

Aaron Rowand, the Giant's All-Star and Gold-Glove center fielder, tells the team that they should trade for third baseman Joe Crede. Rowand, a teammate of Crede's on the 2005 World Series winning Chicago White Sox, says that he would do wonders for the team with his fielding at third base and his power at the plate. Currently, the Giants have only one realistic third baseman, Rich Aurilia, who is coming off of an injury-riddled season. Not Out of Outfielders

Many people have predicted that for this coming season, Dave Roberts, Aaron Rowand and Randy Winn will be the Giants starting outfielders for this coming season. Bringing Back Brad

Three days ago, the Giants re-signed pitcher Brad Hennessey to a one-year deal. Hennessey has pitched for the Giants in each of the past three seasons, going back and fourth between starter and reliever. Last season, Hennessey pitched exclusively out of the bullpen, going 4-5 with a 3.42 ERA, and was even the Giants closer at one point in the season, where he got 19 saves. Race For Second Base

The Giants have quite a race going for who gets to start at second base. There are three main people who are contending for the starting position. The first player is veteran Ray Durham, who has started at second base for the Giants in each of the past five years, but has just posted one of the worst seasons of his career. The second player is Kevin Frandsen, who is a young developing player that hasn't yet had the breakout season everyone thought he would have last year. The third player is Eugenio Velez, who has proved himself as the fastest player on the Giants roster, but not much else. Who do you think will be starting at second base this coming season? The Giants roster still has many question marks. Will Dan Ortmeier be the Giants first basemen next season, or will the Giants look into the market for one? New Star On The Roster!

Yesterday, the Giants signed All-Star and Gold-Glover center fielder Aaron Rowand to a five-year contract. In doing so, the Giants have added a desperately needed quality hitter to their very sub-par lineup. As an added bonus to this, the Giants have also found themselves a terrific center fielder. The Giants aren't off the market yet though. They are still trying to come by young slugger Alex Rios, from Toronto. So far, Toronto has showed a lot of interest in the Giants young star pitcher, Tim Lincecum, but the Giants aren't willing to give Lincecum up. What do you think of the Giants getting Aaron Rowand?
