2008 First Round Draft Pick

With the fifth overall selection in the 2008 Draft, the Giants selected catcher "Buster" Posey out of Florida State. While his main position now is catcher, Posey was originally a shortstop entering college. That's not all. In one game Posey played all nine positions! That is quite versatile. All-Star Hopefuls

The Giants have four All-Star hopefuls. They are Tim Lincecum, Aaron Rowand, Bengie Molina and Brian Wilson. Lincecum has been one of the best starters in the major leagues this season (8-1, 2.54 ERA), Rowand and Molina have been key hitters in the meat of the Giants order (.305, 8 HR, 41 RBI and .308, 6 HR, 48 RBI, respectively) and Wilson has been consistent in his save opportunities (19/21).
